Dr.Bernard presented at the 2025 Pediatric Neuroscience Conference in Doha, Qatar, hosted by Sidra Medicine.
As part of the session “Neurogenetics and Precision Medicine in Neurological Disorders,” Dr. Bernard shared insights on Leukodystrophies: Therapeutic Advances and Clinical Trials, highlighting ongoing international efforts to improve diagnosis, treatment, and care for children affected by rare white matter disorders.
We are proud to see Dr. Bernard contributing to the global dialogue on advancing pediatric neuroscience and precision medicine.

We are beyond proud of Dr. Alexandra Chapleau, PhD, who successfully defended her thesis!
Since joining the MyeliNeuroGene Lab in 2018, Alex has been a cornerstone of our team. Her dedication to research has been pivotal in improving our understanding of hypomyelinating leukodystrophies.
Congratulations Dr. Chapleau!

Dr. Geneviève Bernard had the privilege to present at Amsterdam UMC in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Amsterdam Leukodystrophy Center and mark the farewell of, Dr. Marjo van der Knaap from clinical duties after 40 years of groundbreaking research.

Our lab has been awarded significant funding from the Canada First Research Excellence Fund awarded to the D2R | DNA to RNA Initiative at McGill University for our project: "Hope for POLR3-Related Leukodystrophy: Pioneering Antisense Oligonucleotide and mRNA Replacement Therapies."
This funding represents a major step forward in developing RNA-based therapeutic strategies for POLR3-related leukodystrophy (POLR3-HLD), a rare neurodegenerative disorder affecting white matter development in the central nervous system. With this support, we are one step closer to translating research into potential treatments for those living with this condition.
A heartfelt thank you to our collaborators, partnering organizations, and supporters-your expertise, dedication, and commitment are instrumental in driving this research forward. We are truly grateful for your contributions and look forward to the next steps together.
